Cruise 14 of 28

15:47pm local time

Heading to Port Vila, Vanuatu, from Mystery Island, New Caledonia

We had almost a whole day off, a whole 20.5hrs to chill and not think about work. And it’s been so nice. I knew I needed time to chill out a little, but it was so appreciated to be able to go to bed and get up late and just prepare for the day, instead of being super tired all day long. It is however making going back o work in 20 minutes feel like the end of the world. Make it stop. Please. We watched ‘Wild’ today. A movie based on a true story of a lady who walked the Pacific Crest Trail after deciding her life had become slightly out of control after the death of her mother and a tough upbringing and cheating on her husband with countless men and so many drugs. It’s probably on par with ‘Into The Wild’ on my list of favourite movies. It did make me cry though, and it’s put me in a very pensive mood. Some of the scenes were a little too real what with cancer and death and abusive relationships etc etc etc. In the end it’s inspired me to really push for this South America to Alaska trip Reggie and Mel were talking about doing in 2017, and it’s really made me re-consider again the possibility of walking the Appellation Trail - which I decided I wanted to do after walking a tiny part of it in 2013 and then again after reading Bill Bryce’s ‘Walking In The Woods’.

I want to get lost, be scared, be with myself and I want to do something amazing with my life. I refuse to live an average life, I refuse to get to the end of this whole shebang and regret not going and not doing, I refuse to let myself get in the way of what I really want to do and where I really want to end up… Which right now I have no idea where that is, but so far I don’t regret anything as it’s all lead me up to this point.

A big part of fate is being pro-active, not sitting and waiting for the amazing things/places/people to fall into your lap.
