So it's Anzac Day, a day for remembrance and a day for Australians and New Zealanders to be thankful to those who fought and died during the wars.

It also means a three day weekend across the two countries.

A three day weekend means we planned camping on Friday, left on Saturday 5 hours of driving to the Catalins, first Curio Bay then Purakaunui. After a freezing night of rain and wind, the sun came up and it was absolutely beautiful on Sunday morning. The boys surfed and me and Becci took photos and chilled in the sunshine, watching the waves slowly get bigger. Then we drove back as we didn't fancy another evening of numb toes. And Eric, the guy who gave me shelter in his van for the night, was leaving anyway so there was nowhere for me to sleep if we had stayed.

On our arrival home we played cards in our pyjamas and I got to Skype and get some exciting news that makes me look forward to the 6th May even more than I already was. I am so excited for May and June, it's going to be a time of new beginnings and plans being put into action.

Until then I have to decide what to do next. The sensible part of me is thinking about money and wondering how I can spend the next 10 days in NZ as cheaply as possible while still making the most of where I am. I know the last bit is going to be full of costs I can't help as I have to get to Christchurch and i have to live somewhere in Sydney for a few days and I have to get to and from airports... But until then I have to make sure I'm enjoying my time left here to the fullest.

10 days to explore, when I feel like I've seen and done almost everything I want to see and do here. Except for Mt Roy, which I can't decide if I'm fit enough to attempt... Or resilient enough anyway. And there's a trampoline park I want to try out too, and Kayaking? So there's a couple of days worth of things to do. We always have fun at weekends as everyone is free to do and play, so really its only a couple of days to find things to do, as long as I get up and actually do the things I have planned, rather than lazily hanging around in sunshine.
